My Story
Steve began training at the University of Virginia and received both a Master's Degree in Architecture (MArch), a master's degree in Architectural History (MArh), and a Certificate in Historic Preservation. Since graduating Steve has been working along Utah's Wasatch front and beyond renovating historic buildings. Steve's work includes all aspects of historic preservation: Restoration, renovation, adaptive reuse, infill additions in historic districts, National Register nominations, Federal Historic Tax Credit applications, Section 106 review, Intensive Level Surveys and Reconnaissance Level Surveys. In addition to Steve's work in preserving historic buildings Steve has also worked on numerous new buildings. Preservation is a broad term, but Steve's interests lie in using the existing infrastructure and built form to both preserve the character of a place, to restore community, and to create novel spaces. Steve recently co-authored a book entitled "Salt Lake City's Modern Architecture."
